• Vaccinations: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Rabies

• Travelers should also be up to date for measles/mumps/rubella (MMR), diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus (DPT)

Rabies vaccination if traveling to rural areas.

• Travel warnings for: Malaria, Cutaneous leishmaniasis, filariasis, Dengue, Leptospirosis, Cryptosporidiosis.

Malaria risk is highest from April until December in all areas below 2,500 m.
• Chloroquine is NOT an effective antimalarial drug in Tajikistan.
• Atovaquone/proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine can be used and this should be discussed with your doctor.

Dengue, Cutaneous leishmaniasis, filariasis are all carried by insects and travelers should avoid insect bites and use insect repellent with DEET (30%-50%)

Leptospirosis avoid swimming in fresh water.

Cryptosporidiosis risk can be prevented by drinking bottled water.
