• Travelers should be up to date on Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus (DPT), Polio.
• Rabies vaccination if traveling to rural areas.
• Travel warnings for: Dengue, Leishmaniasis, Chagas’ disease, Cryptosporidiosis.
• Dengue, Leishmaniasis, American trypanosomiasis (Chagas’ disease) are all carried by insects so travelers should avoid insect bites and use insect repellents with DEET (30%-50%).
• Cryptosporidiosis risk can be prevented by drinking bottled water.
