• Vaccinations: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B,Typhoid, Rabies
• Travelers should be up to date on measles/mumps/rubella (MMR), diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus (DPT).
• Rabies vaccination if traveling to rural areas.
• Travel warnings for: Malaria, Tickborne encephalitis, Cryptosporidiosis
• Malaria limited to areas including lowlands near Kura and Arax rivers in the provinces of Agcabadi, Barda, Beylaqan, Bilasuvar, Calilabad, Fuzuli, Imisli, Kurdamir, Nakhichivan, Sabirabad, Saatli and Zardab typically between July and October.
• Chloroquine is the recommended antimalarial drug if you will be visiting a malaria risk area in Azerbaijan.
• Tickborne encephalitis (TBE) carried by insects and travelers should avoid insect bites and use insect repellent with DEET(30%-50%). No TBE vaccines are available in the United States.
• Cryptosporidiosis risk can be prevented by bottled water.
