Angola

Vaccinations: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B,Typhoid, Rabies, Polio, Yellow Fever

• Travelers should be up to date on measles/mumps/rubella (MMR), diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus (DPT), Polio

• Rabies vaccination if traveling to rural areas.

• Yellow fever vaccination certificate required prior to entry into Angola

Travel warnings for: Malaria, Dengue, Filariasis, Cutaneous leishmaniasis, Schistosomiasis, Cryptosporidiosis.

Malaria
• Chloroquine is NOT an effective anti malarial drug in Angola
• Atovaquone/proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine can be used but this should be discussed with your doctor

Dengue, Cutaneous leishmaniasis, filariasis carried by insects and travelers should avoid insect bites and use insect repellent with DEET (30%-50%)

Schistosomiasis avoid swimming in fresh water.

Cryptosporidiosis risk can be prevented by bottled water.
