Cheek pain

Cheek pain is the symptom of localized discomfort of the cheek area.

Cheek pain can result from:
· arthritis of the temporal mandibular joint (TMJ)
· multiple sclerosis
· trigeminal neuralgia (neuropathy of the fifth cranial nerve)
· sinusitis (infection of the maxillary sinus)

Cheek pain should be evaluated by your doctor.

Hand weakness

Hand weakness is the symptom of the loss of strength of the muscles of the hand.

Hand weakness can be a sign of:
·
stroke
·
trauma (injury) to the nerves going from the neck to the hand
· arthritis of the neck or injury to the neck
· multiple sclerosis.

Hand weakness should be evaluated by your doctor.

Double vision in both eyes

Double vision in both eyes is seeing two of the same image and is a symptom of misalignment of the eyes.

Double vision in both eyes can be a sign of:
· Botulism
· Multiple sclerosis
· Myasthenia gravis
· Graves’ disease
· Wernicke’s encephalopathy
· Stroke
· Neurosyphilis
· Systemic lupus erythematosus
· Pseudotumor cerebri
· Muscle entrapment from orbital blowout fracture
· Orbital cellulitis
· Sphenoid sinusitis
· Cavernous sinus thrombosis
· Optic migraine
· Temporal (giant cell) arteritis
· Diphtheria
· Progressive supranuclear palsy

Calf numbness

Calf numbness is the symptom of the loss of sensation of the calf.

Calf numbness can be a sign of sign of a peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage).

Calf numbness can also be a sign of a spinal injury.

Calf numbness may also result from heavy metal exposure or trauma to nerves.

Calf numbness can be a sign of diabetes and should be evaluated by your doctor.

Weakness

Weakness is the symptom of the loss of strength of a muscle or muscles.

Weakness and muscle strength may be difficult to quantify.

Muscle weakness must be distinguished from generalized fatigue, lethargy or malaise which all tend to describe the sense of tiredness.

Weakness that is isolated to specific location can result from:
· stroke
· muscle damage
· injury to a nerve
· Multiple sclerosis
· Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Diffuse weakness of muscles may result from illnesses such as:
· thyroid disease
·adrenal insufficiency
