Wrist lump
· Wrist lump is a firm induration or localized swelling or the wrist.
· Wrist lump can result from a Ganglion cyst or a broken bone of the wrist or hand.
Ganglion Cysts are the most common lump of the hand or wrist.
Ganglion Cysts are usually painless.
Ganglion Cysts are a herniation of the lining around a tendon in the wrist or forearm or hand.
Ganglion Cysts are not nerves.
Ganglion Cysts result from local trauma, or wearing down of the lining around a tendon. Synovial fluid builds up and herniates outward causing the cystic mass.
Ganglion Cysts can be surgically removed or the fluid may be aspirated out.
