Vertigo
• Vertigo is the symptom of a false sensation of spinning.
• Vertigo may originate from the ear or the brain.
• Vertigo can be a sign of a serious illness such as
· an acoustic neuroma (tumor growth of the cranial nerve for the ear)
· labyrinthitis (inflammation of the organ of hearing and balance in the ear)
· tumor of the cerebellum
· stroke
· vertebrobasilar insufficiency of vertebral artery.
• Persistent or recurrent vertigo should be evaluated by your doctor.
