Sweating

Sweating is the release of liquid from the sweat glands in the skin.

Sweating is useful way for the body to regulate temperature in a hot environment. Evaporating sweat pulls heat away from your body.

Sweat glands are found:
· under the arms
· on the feet
· on the palms of the hands

• Excessive sweating can be a symptom of:
· an illness or infection
· a side-effect of a medication

• Excessive sweating may be associated with:
· anxiety
· emotional stressors

• The average person has about two to four million sweat glands.
