Nausea
• Nausea is the symptom of a vague, but sometimes intense sensation of sickness and urgent need to vomit.
• Nausea can be a symptom of:
· irritation of the stomach (gastritis)
· ulcer of the stomach (gastric ulcer or peptic ulcer disease)
· pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
· gall bladder (gall stones, obstructed bile, bile duct spasm)
· hepatitis (inflammation of the liver)
· esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus)
· gastroenteritis (infection of the stomach and intestine with bacteria or a virus)
• Nausea that persists can be a sign of a serious condition should always be evaluated by your doctor.
