Hyperglycemia

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) is usually a sign of diabetes.

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) can also result from taking certain medications including:
certain oral contraceptives
Glucocorticoids medications
Thiazides diuretic medication
phenytoin seizure medication
niacin
pentamidine

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) may also result from:
· autoimmune thyroiditis
· Cushing’s syndrome
· cystic fibrosis
· gestational diabetes
· hemochromatosis
· pancreatitis

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) symptoms include:
· excessive thirst
· frequent and excessive urination (due to the diuretic effect of excessive blood glucose levels)
· fatigue
· blurry vision
· peripheral neuropathy
· vaginal fungal infections

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) should be evaluated by your doctor.
