Hallucination

• Hallucination is a false sensory awareness, such as seeing a light that does not exist or hearing a voice that is not present.

• Hallucination can be caused by:
· schizophrenia
· encephalitis (infection of the brain)
· meningitis (infection of the layers around the brain)
· hallucinogenic drugs such as LSD (lysergic acid), PCP (phencyclidine) and marijuana
