Ringing
· Ringing in the ears is the symptom of Tinnitus.
Tinnitus is the symptom of an abnormal perception of sound.
Tinnitus is usually a high pitched ringing sound but may be any abnormal sound including pulsatile noise or clicks.
· Ringing can be caused by:
hearing loss
damage to the cochlea
exposure to loud music
Meniere’s disease
aspirin toxicity
acoustic neuroma (tumor)
· Tinnitus should be evaluated by your doctor.
