Chicken chest
• Chicken chest (pigeon chest or Pectus carinatum) is the deformity of a protrusion out of the chest wall at
the mid-line of chest at the sternum (breast bone).
• Chicken chest is uncommon, occurring at about one out of every 3,000 live births.
• Chicken chest can be associated with Marfan’s syndrome.
• Chicken chest can be corrected with surgery.
