Cervical lymphadenopathy

Cervical lymphadenopathy is the symptom of a swollen lymph nodes in the neck.

Cervical lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph node) in front of the sternocleidomastoid (the muscle inserting behind the ear to the front of the sternum) may indicate:
· an infection of the throat
· an infection of the sinus
· an infection of the face

Cervical lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph node) behind the sternocleidomastoid muscle may indicate an infection on the scalp.

Cervical lymphadenopathy that persists can be a sign of lymphoma ( Hodgkin’s Disease )

Cervical lymphadenopathy should be evaluated by your doctor.
