Calf swelling

Calf swelling is the symptom of edema or fluid in the tissues of the lower leg.

Calf swelling can be a sign of an infection of the calf and would typically be warm and tender to touch and reddish in color.

Calf swelling can be a sign of a blood clot in the leg.

Calf swelling can also be a sign of heart failure or a blood clot and should be evaluated by your doctor.
