· Uterine Cancer is cancer of the endometrium (the inner lining of the uterus).
• Overview
· Uterine Cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women and 39,000 new cases are diagnosed every year in the United States.
• Types
· Adenocarcinoma is the most common form of uterine cancer
· Adenocarcinoma with squamous differentiation is the next most common form of uterine cancer
• Symptoms
Most patients of Uterine Cancer will present to their doctor with:
· abnormal vaginal discharge
· postmenopausal vaginal bleeding
• Treatment
· Uterine Cancer is treated by hysterectomy (surgical removal of the uterus) and chemotherapy.
