Heat Rash

Definition
· Heat Rash (Miliaria) is a rash of very tiny blisters over the trunk, groin and underarm (clothed areas of the body) associated with heat.

Overview
· Heat Rash (Miliaria) is a reaction to inflammation, blockage and ultimately rupture of sweat glands in the skin.
· Heat Rash (Miliaria) is more common in hot and moist environments.
· Heat Rash (Miliaria) is associated with certain drugs such as blood pressure and pain medications.

Symptoms
· Burning
· Itching

Complications
· Infection of the skin

Treatment
· Cooling measures
· Topical steroids
