Fatigue

Fatigue is the condition of generalized muscle weakness, and difficulty with concentration and memory.

Fatigue may be a symptom of:
· Adrenal insufficiency
· Anemia
· Cancer
· Depression
· Diabetes mellitus
· Emphysema (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)
· Fibromyalgia (the disease of chronic muscle aching)
· Heart failure
· Hypercalcemia (excessive blood calcium levels)
· Hypothyroidism
· Infection
· Iron deficiency (fatigue may be present even with anemia)
· Medications (sedatives, blood pressure medications)
· Mono (Infectious mononucleosis)
· Renal failure
· Sleep apnea or lack of sleep

Fatigue that persists or worsens should be evaluated by your doctor.
