• Bad breath (halitosis) is the condition of excessive odor from mouth, sinus or lungs.
Overview
• Bad breath is usually due to bacterial overgrowth from an infection or decaying food material.
• Bad breath usually originates from the mouth or nasal airways. Good oral hygiene and adequate hydration is usually sufficient to control bad breath.
Other causes of bad breath include: chronic sinusitis, dental abscess, lung abscess.
